How to Apply to Get into the Program

The Los Angeles Valley College Nursing Program accepts applications twice a year: in September for the Spring filing period and in April for the Fall filing period. Contact the Nursing Department for specific dates for each semester.

Instructions for Spring 2024 Nursing Application

Hello Prospective Nursing Students,

In order to be considered a fully qualified applicant for the Los Angeles Valley College Nursing Program please follow the instructions listed below:

*Non LACCD Applicants

Apply to LAVC.

Request out of district transcripts from all colleges attended which include grades posted through Winter 2023.

Tuesday, August 1

First day to request Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation.

Monday, September 11

Last day for the Admissions and Records office to RECEIVE out-of-district updated and official transcripts with all grades posted through Summer 2023.

Contact all colleges/universities you have previously attended and request that the official transcripts be sent to Los Angeles Valley College.  

LAVC will accept official transcripts and test scores directly from the issuing institution, electronically via Parchment (www.parchment.com) or by regular mail. If your school does not use Parchment, the transcript will have to be mailed directly to LAVC. C/O Admissions and Records Office, 5800 Fulton Avenue, Valley Glen, CA 91401. Transcripts issued directly to the student or another party, even if in a sealed envelope, will not be accepted. Once LAVC receives your official transcript, please allow 15 business days for processing.

Check your student email for verification. If you did not receive an email notification to your student email confirming your transcripts have been received, please visit Admissions and Records Live Chat.

Students will not receive a signed evaluation from a counselor, unless all current and updated transcripts are on file.

Friday, September 1 

First day to apply to the Nursing Program.

Friday, September 15 

Last day to request Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation (see Step 4) by 7:00pm.

  • Requests submitted after September 15, 2023, will be requested through the Help Desk. 

  • Late requests will be evaluated in the order received and not guaranteed to be evaluated by the September 29th deadline. 

Friday, September 29 

Last day to apply to the Nursing Program by 4:00pm.

LACCD Applicants

Do not submit a Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation request if you have previously received an evaluation from an LAVC counselor. Use your previous evaluation form to upload with your Nursing Application. If you need a copy of your previous evaluation form, email Anna Emyan at @email, provide your full name and Student ID number and write "Requesting Copy of Nursing Evaluation" in the subject line. Please note: this email is only for requesting a copy of a previous evaluation form; therefore, do not send any other questions to this email.

  1. All prerequisites must be completed with a “C” or better.
  2. If you took ANY courses outside of LACCD, please send your official transcripts to the Admissions and Records Office at LAVC.
    • Include transcripts from all institutions you have attended through Summer 2023, regardless of course completion.  
  3. Must have a Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation completed by a counselor.
  4. Must complete the Nursing Application.

Non LACCD Applicants:

Do not submit a Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation request if you have previously received an evaluation from an LAVC counselor. Use your previous evaluation form to upload with your Nursing Application. Out of District applicants may need to resend updated out of district transcripts from all colleges attended which include grades posted through Summer 2023.

  3. Once you have received your Student ID number, request to have your official transcripts from your previous institutions sent to LAVC which includes grades posted through Summer 2023 (see STEP 2 & STEP 3).  
  4. Must have a Nursing Prerequisite Evaluation completed by an LAVC counselor.
  5. Must complete the Nursing Application.
